Rhyme is writing with the use of similarly used words to end a thought or line. Poetry flows freely with lines expressing authors though changes. Let’s see how will Rich does it for fun with:
Rich’s Philosophy in Rhyme and other bits of Poetry
Hi, I am Rich Hoback , just an average old fella with sometimes fleeting thoughts:

Sittin’ on the Dock
Sittin’, Watchin’ and Waitin’, Even tho’ nothin’ comes my way. Nothin’ changin’ but don’t matter none Anyway. Can’t do what people want me to, ‘cause I’m busy sittin’ on the dock in life’s bay. Rich 2022

Solitude
Solitude She stepped down from her back porch. A wisp of a breeze was awakening. A smile came across her face. The sound of the wind chimes, captured her thoughts. It seemed for her, to be entering another world, in another time. So many thoughts traveled across her mind, as she walked carefully into the flowers. The sweet aroma of the flora reminded her of that first true love in her life, The multi-colored blossoms painted images in her mind of both the heat and the softness of their love for each other. She needed this time today. I did also, Thank you, Mom! Rich Hoback 9.2.2022

Across the Creek
In the summertime.... across the creek where everything grows, across the creek where no one goes. In the Autumn when nearly all goes to sleep, it becomes a world of Magic. In the Winter as all lays down to rest beneath a carpet of pure white snow, the only sound we hear is that of our own breath. Yes, again in the Springtime it becomes a carpet of green with only the sound of singing birds. It's what I see from standing Across the Creek. Rich Hoback 8.10.2022
Black-Capped Chickadee

Come to me
my little Chickadee,
it is not the size
that matters as much
as it is the Life
you bring to us

The Ant
As I sat perplexed one day,
with my back against a tree,
My mind was deep in thought,
of the matters that troubled me.
I glanced at the bark
of this large forest tree.
What had been placed there
just for my eyes to see?
an Ant........
My first impulse was to crush it
beneath the weight of my foot,
but something inside me said:
“Don’t kill it ........ Just look....”
At first, as I watched
this simple ant,
all that I could see....
was how unorganized his aim in life
really seemed to be.
My mind wandered further,
into his miniature world.
Did he indeed have a brain?
Quickly he moves to the right,
to the left and to the right again.
Was it his eyes
that guided him around
the many obstacles ........
in the light that seems so dim?
Or was it just Instinct
that carried on past
the barriers formed
right in front of him,
and to his goals at last?
As I sat and watched him
on that sultry summer day,
My thought then turned from problems
to lighter, joyful thoughts of Play.
I resolved in my mind that day,
after watching this new friend,
that I might learn from the message that he sends.
By replacing the words in my mind
.... ‘I can’t’,
I would do well to savor
The Will of simple Ant !

The Cardinal

A bright red cardinal
appeared in my yard today.
A sign that an Angel is near,
a sign the spring is now here.
He strutted about so that I may
notice his beauty ,
his confidence,
and the message that he carried
those who might see.
His message was one of Love,
of trust ,
of pride,
a message that someone is very near.
I am standing in Mom’s Garden
with the angel sent to me from her.

Examples of Spring Give us, your wonderful examples of spring, Oh please , don’t hold back ! Don’t save for them for a later time that we could see your works. Your talent in expressing a love so deep for us, is needed now and each day of our lives. Forgive us now as we stand with our mouths wide open in awe of your splendor, as we watch the many wonderful…… Examples of Spring. © Rich Hoback 6.1.2021
Meanings
Just a closer
walk with thee——
What does that mean
to you,
What does that mean
to me?
A verse in a song,
a heartfelt smile,
a stroll in the park,
for just a little while.
What does that mean to you?
This is what it means to me.
A gentle touch of a
true, true friend,
one standing close by me
for the beginning
through the end.
One who knowingly
accepts my faults,
and pats my shoulder
in my pride;
who comforts me in
all my fears and doubts.
One who never leaves
my side.
All in All,
who else could it be,
when I think of……
“Just a closer walk with thee”.

‘Pairs’
Smiles are a good thing
when shared by two.
Laughter is more fun,
when laughing with another.
Strength and Support is unapparelled
when Shared by two.

Worthiness
On my walk in nature
I passed a tiny bullfrog
on my walk today.
I stopped to listen
to the words he seemed to say.
“Please Mister,
You are in my domain.
But if you choose the stay,
I really won’t complain.
While you are here though,
I fell teat I must ask,
to help me, please with
a very simple task.
To my daddy bullfrog,
I need to prove my worth.
To catch this little housefly,
is my need on Earth.
If you could just shoo him
over here by me,
I’d have my lunch and better yet,
Prove my need to be.”
So as I moved on down the path,
on my walk today,
I thought and thought of the words,
that tiny bullfrog seed to say.
What die he say
that I might hear,
with that tiny little voice
so small?
He told me that
as each day passed,
I need to catch My fly;
I need to prove my work each day
……. and not let a day go by.
For there is a need
for me to be
here on God’s green earth.
All that is asked …for me to stay,
Is to continue to prove my worth.

…. For Me ….
The evening is early now…..
and as I sit,
the full moon rises.
At first it is very intriguing,
yes, …….even mysterious
in it’s warm glow,
larger than life,
as it quickly emerges
from it’s resting place on the horizon.
As it gains momentum,
the warm glow turns to a shimmer,
and it begins to spread it’s soothing light
across the field.
Just as I become spellbound in it’s beauty,
it disappears behind a low hanging cloud …
only to emerge again
even brighter, in it’s own majesty.
This time it’s face is clear. . . .
and I now it as placed there For Me.

Castaway Dreams
Castaway dreams
where sunshine beams
on some faraway
desolate isle.
Where careless
and free,
just you and me,
loving our lives
away.
Just want to say
on this blustery day…..
and the absence
of a desolate isle,
“Thank God” that
A man can have dreams!
